Rite of Spring
Apr. 2nd, 2021 04:32 pmWhilst you may love or curse YouTube or is it GooTube, they often have some surprising and interesting posts - such as this one on Classics Explained.
Episode 10: The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky
I have three versions of this on CD, by Stravinsky, by Boulez and by Bernstein.

:format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(40)/discogs-images/R-4397298-1523875557-8745.jpeg.jpg)
These are the three best recordings in my opinion and the one I will choose is the Boulez. A rip from a vinyl copy before being reissued onto CD - the Cleveland orchestra weer in excellent form on this.
Stravinsky - Rite of spring : Pierre Boulez (1969, from LP)

Weekend Brain Teaser
Apr. 2nd, 2021 11:19 pmYes, another couple to get your lateral thinking brains going.
How would you size up compromising photos in 1946, a ransom demand in 1998, and sleight of hand on the stock market in 2015?
Take a mythical ship, load it with goods, and send it first to a city in North Dakota, and then to a city in Florida, slowly. The connection?
No googling. Answer on Sunday.
