Monday Musings
Apr. 26th, 2021 04:49 pmI feel that the weather has taken a little backwards turn. Whilst it is sunny there has been a very raw wind that diminishes the temperature, and keeping it a might chilly. Well, hopefully, the weather is forecast to get warmer by the weekend - I hope.
So today, apart from listening to some music and the occasional snippet from a book of quotes, I have been continuing to catalogue my CDs onto the Discogs database. It is a slow steady pace that I hope to complete at least well before the end of the year. However, it does help to look at a glance that I have three Robbie Basho CDs and at least five by John Fahey.
Packet another box of unwanted items to go to Ziffit tomorrow. Sold three items on eBay as well. So these will be posted tomorrow as well.
Watched the last episode of The Falcom and The Winter Soldier. Just six episodes but in fact, I felt it was complete. No need to drag a good story too long. I did start another series with an intriguing premise last night called Debris. The series follows the lives of "two agents ... from two different continents, USA and Britain, and two different mindsets, who must work together to investigate when wreckage from a destroyed alien spacecraft has mysterious effects on humankind and is in ten episodes.
I have been listening to the music of Telemann who was more famous in his lifetime than J.S.Bach at around the same period. It is funny how the fortunes of these two composers have reversed in recent decades.

Monday At The Movies
Apr. 26th, 2021 07:37 pmI failed to do a movie post last week so today there a few clips of movie music or soundtrack music.
The first one is a direct rip off from Stravinsky's Rite Of Spring -
John Williams - Jaws Theme
and at 3:15 mins in is that orchestral stab.
Stravinsky: Le sacre du printemps, Pt. 1: L'adoration de la Terre - 1. Introduction, Lento - Più mosso - 2. Les augures printaniers - Danses des adolescentes, Tempo giusto - 3. Jeu du rapt, Presto
Jerry Goldsmith - Theme from The Omen
This is also based on the oratorio symphony by Stravinsky called "The Symphony Of Psalms"
ENJOY

Answer To The Sunday Brain Teaser
Apr. 26th, 2021 11:08 pmCongrats to those who did work it out.
The question was -
Why might you find it a little tedious to watch Elvis's second movie in Hawaii, Murakami's sixth novel and the Damned's second single?
The answer is to do with repetition.
The second Elvis Hawaii movie was Girls, Girls, Girls.
The Murikami novel is Dance Dance Dance.
The second Damned single is Neat, Neat, Neat.
