It has been another hot day reaching 26C. A little bit of sunbathing done, and some reading. Also, a lovely walk into town late afternoon.

I had run out of coffee and you know I cannot do without it! So I popped into the supermarket to buy some and naturally discovered some new craft ales on sale. Hence another late siesta.

Oh well, back out working tomorrow.

I feel that the weather has taken a little backwards turn. Whilst it is sunny there has been a very raw wind that diminishes the temperature, and keeping it a might chilly. Well, hopefully, the weather is forecast to get warmer by the weekend - I hope.

So today, apart from listening to some music and the occasional snippet from a book of quotes, I have been continuing to catalogue my CDs onto the Discogs database. It is a slow steady pace that I hope to complete at least well before the end of the year. However, it does help to look at a glance that I have three Robbie Basho CDs and at least five by John Fahey.

Packet another box of unwanted items to go to Ziffit tomorrow. Sold three items on eBay as well. So these will be posted tomorrow as well.

Watched the last episode of The Falcom and The Winter Soldier. Just six episodes but in fact, I felt it was complete. No need to drag a good story too long. I did start another series with an intriguing premise last night called Debris. The series follows the lives of "two agents ... from two different continents, USA and Britain, and two different mindsets, who must work together to investigate when wreckage from a destroyed alien spacecraft has mysterious effects on humankind and is in ten episodes.

I have been listening to the music of Telemann who was more famous in his lifetime than J.S.Bach at around the same period. It is funny how the fortunes of these two composers have reversed in recent decades.

So far it rained again on Sunday and today it is merely overcast but dry. At least the Stagecoach bus service is back to normal. Not seen one going down to Kiln Court since the lockdown. Also, they are cheaper than Arriva if I need to go to town when I am not walking there  - £2 return instead of £4.80. Arriva is cheaper if I need to go to Sittingbourne.

I was walking to the local shop when I noticed the bus.

I posted some items off and got some chili-con-carne and extra beers to go with the eight Master Brew bottles from my bro this morning.

I watched The Boat That Rocked again last night. A wonderful feel-good movie about the pirate radio days. Bill Nighy is in it. I love this mature method actor. He is so good and he is also in that other great movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel along with Judi Dench.
If not seen I recommend both movies.

Bill Nighy

He is also in these funny radio dramas on BBC Radio 4 - A Charles Paris Mystery based on the books by Simon Brett.

Bank Holiday Monday was very warm in sunny in my sweet spot here. I di quite a bit of sunbathing and chatted to some of my neighbours in the garden. One such neighbour is Sue or in full Sue Coward. She lived in Teynham for awhile next to the old Fox pub. She moved to Teynham in 1994.

She knows of all the pubs in Teynham such as the George, Swan and of course the Dover Castle Inn. She loves her wine - a lot!!!

Also in the garden was jean and her family who came to see her today at the right distance of course.

Lunch I had a ham and cheese sarnie. Dinner was Cumberland sausage, onion gravy and mashed potato washed down with a Shephard Neame IPA.

I also managed to do some haircut on myself as it was getting too wayward and straggly.

Over the weekend I sold five books which I will post off tomorrow.

A plenitude of cumulous clouds obscured the sun intermittently today. Cooler than the weekend and thus more mercurial. It is a day for frustrated sunbathing.

And concomitantly  with this, I had to pop into town as I sold a couple of items on eBay- small items - not a great deal of money - but fine for a few beers.

Thus,I am here in Spoons, and being that it is Monday, pints are just £1.99 and thius a few Abott Ales are going down a  treat!

I also received the final payment for the Subways I did for Tern.

I am also getting a small rebate from Prudential - money they owe me due to a miscalculation on the pension I took out with them years back but since transferred it to Aegon. We are not talking three figures but only two with accumulated interest over so many years. I don't know when I will get this nice little surprise but I already confirmed that I was with them and sent the forms off to get the money. Meanwhile, this week until Friday may well be a quiet one, although I have taken on more sandwich shops due on the 4th, I might ask Tern to spread them out more.

I remembered reading a chapter from the recent Philip Larkin biography I read that his dad, Stanley, once lived in Coventry, with Philip attending a local college before the war, before Philip went to Oxford. Now Coventry is only twelve miles from my birthplace in Rugby. The cathedral city got heavily bombed in WW1. The reason I mention this is that Chiara {https://cmcmck.dreamwidth.org/} who used to be here as [livejournal.com profile] cmcmck mentioned that Larkin was librarian where she and her husband now live, the town of Wellington in Shropshire. The poet likened his town here to a "hole of toad's turds".

I can think of other towns as turds and funnily enough, Coventry comes high on my list.

So as a mini gathering of your pet hates, which town or city is your "hole of toad's turd"?

Well, after a lovely day today is a bit .... well... meh!

I have no plans for today anyway as Friday will be very busy again.

I will be seeing Phil later as he is catering the Lady masons again here in Faversham.

Time for some reading methinks.

Almost the last day of this months work until February. A trip down to Ashford and Canterbury today and then just Faversham for the rest of the week. I just hope the finances can be stretched out.

I am still finding a good trickle of income coming from Discogs and eBay but it is no guarantee that it will continue.

I have been watching more episodes of Star Trek (STNG that is). Also, watched the Star Trek Insurrection film on Prime last night.

I am quite amazed by how much I have read so far this new year and maybe I should have increased the challenge. Never mind, there are always banana skins to trip you up as you proceed forward in time.

Another hot day which has become quite a regular diurnal occurrence.I really don't remember having such a long period of sunshine and high temperatures, We have had hot summers before but it seems that this year it has been the longest. So after waking at 8.30 this morning i had my usual cup of coffee and went outside for a sunbathe -it was already that warm, a warming 25 degrees C. I decided to have a shower and a shave at midday.

I Have no plans today ,although i was going to travel back to Kent, i have deferred that the following morning. It is forecast to be a cool twenty degrees which will be perfect for travelling.

Wednesday i will be doing my second round trip of Kent on the trains.
Thursday Through to Saturday will also be working days, rest and Sunday and then one day next week ,and nothing envisioned until August,

I still need to pickup the record deck from Mary , and now i have some singles, that has spurred me on to see her and get the deck, which also includes a CD player and radio.

I have finished another couple of paperbacks,so given time, and other factors,i will get round to posting reviews at some point.

Can’t think of anything else at the moment.
