1) If you think your house is haunted, what should you do?

2) When should you investigate a strange noise in your basement?

3) How do you know if an abandoned building is safe to visit?

4) How do you decide whether to solve a problem as a team, or split up and go it alone?

5) Where do you store your knives and where would you look if one was missing?

I have watched a few old films on DVD this week including Terminator 3, 2010 A Space Odyssey, and 2001 of course. I also watched Blade Runner again. Now my knowledge of films is somewhat suspect but not so with the music in films or film composers. Take an example such as Bobby Womack's Across 110th Street used in Quentin Tarantino's Foxy Brown movie but originally appeared in a movie of the same name from 1972 - it was one of the many blaxploitation films that appeared in the seventies.

J.J. Johnson - Across 110th Street (Instrumental)

Bobby Womack - Across 110th Street

A fine, thoughtful album from Bobby Womack (who wrote the theme) and jazz veteran J.J. Johnson. The album is a mix of classic seventies soul and a heady, beat-driven big band style of funk. The best track from a funk perspective is the outstanding 'Harlem Clavinette'. JJ Johnson on top form.

This is for soul sister [livejournal.com profile] desdemonaspace!
