Today's Vinyl Finds!
Dec. 14th, 2021 07:27 pmAnother productive day in which I completed three visits, two in Medway and one in Ashford. After the last one in Chatham, I popped into Gillighma and then Rainham on my return home. It was in Rainham where I found sox more slabs of vinyl going for free from the cardboard box on the table outside of the record shop in Station Road.
Another mixed bag of the sixties and seventies easy listening, jazzy exotica, and vocal groups. Batchelor pad music perhaps.

Nico Gomez - Rio
Mar. 24th, 2021 03:46 pmAfter two great Latin jazz and fusion grooves from my bro
coming42 is this slamming track that DJ Abo, Ally Smith, and myself use to play to death at The Northern Lights and The Quadrant back in the days in Brighton -
Nico Gomez and His Orchestra - Rio
The LP had that typical bachelor pad exotica groove look to it.
Doo doo doo doo doo doo ....

Øyvind Torvund - The Exotica Album
Jun. 20th, 2020 01:56 amTwo tracks from
Øyvind Torvund: The Exotica Album
Wind Up Paradise Birds
Starry Night
Norwegian composer and improviser Øyvind Torvund’s audaciously playful suite re-imagines lounge music in collage form. Think dreamy, super-saturated, 1950s travel adverts, with a soundtrack of sugary strings, cartoon whistles, brass fanfares, and cheesy wind instruments. And then throw on a topping of abstraction, distortion, modern electronics, crazed percussion, and noise saxophone.
