Jeez! I was woken up ten minutes ago by an almighty crash or that's what it sounded like, and then I heard the mewling.. a couple of cats fighting over territory,, I guess. There were a few rubbish bin tops missing from the neighbours strewn across the car park.

But how the bins ended up there is a mystery as these are usually round the back with the large bins from the binroom. It's a mystery and one I can forget as I need to try to get back to sleep.

Since the beginning of last week, we have had a slight outage of the internet for around ten minutes. I wonder if BT is fixing up some cables again? The last time it happened I was in the middle of a who-done-it series!

I have been keeping up with a range of media outlets- mainstream and otherwise- and have come to the following conclusions, which I shall present as bullet points.

1. Putin is a master strategist, understands nothing because he lives in a bubble surrounded by yes men and is lashing out like a madman.

2. Ukraine is divided, utterly corrupt and fascistic and populated by noble and courageous patriots.

3. NATO is totally to blame for boxing Russia in- and should have squeezed it much harder.

4. Putin's objective is the capture of a few US biolabs, the creation of a buffer state and the total domination of Europe.

And there you have it...

What could be clearer?

I just watched one of the most hard-hitting Ken Loach films on BBC iPlayer. "Sorry We Missed You" which is a drama that shouts loud screes against the gig economy and the fact that carers are overworked.

In it, Ricky Turner takes a job as a delivery driver on a zero-hours contract, thinking it's a step towards independence and stability for his family. Instead, he finds the unforgiving working conditions and demanding schedule exact a heavy toll. With his wife Abbie needing to be at her job as a home carer and their graffiti artist son Seb's habit of playing truant, Ricky and Abbie find they always need to be in two places at once and give everything they can to try and help their family.

I would want to see every Tory grandee watch this with their eyes fixed wide open as Alex was in A Clockwork Orange to watch this film. Then they see the total hardship the working class has to deal with. Thanks, Ken for another in your face drama.

Well worth watching.

Do you prefer wind chimes that make noise or those that really do not?

My recollection of the 70s and 80s says that a Chicken Biryani enjoyed in an Indian restaurant always had a fried egg served on top. Anyone else remember that? Never mind. Tonight I had a Biryani bought from Iceland - a bung-it-in-the-oven type of meal. I decided to dress it up with two fried eggs and I have to say that it provided a most enjoyable meal.

You might notice that I do enjoy fried eggs with my black pepper as does my brother [livejournal.com profile] davesmusictank!

This was a very satisfying meal along with a glass of red.
