Date: 2016-06-15 08:36 am (UTC)I used to.
Once, at a faire. It was a lovely experience, but they kept telling me of men in my life who did not exist.

And no.
That's the short answer, anyway :)

Not as such. A Tarot Reader, but not what I think of as a medium. :D

No - but some of my friends do tarot card readings sometimes and that's always fun

Date: 2016-06-15 10:19 am (UTC)Yes, most definitely. Practice makes perfect ;-)
My mother was a spiritualist medium, who had friends who were astrologers, crystal ball scryers, past life therapists, tarot readers etc.

No. I do read Tarot cards for myself, but not for fortune telling. They make me look at problems in different ways and help me figure stuff out.

Date: 2016-06-15 11:32 am (UTC)To the rational mind nothing is inexplicable only unexplained. My view of magic, in the mystical sense, is very much akin to Clarke's law. Of course the term magic in other contexts is quite real.
Not as such, I have a friend whom for privacy issues I will call Rose, who claims to be a practicing wiccan and supposedly placed a hex on Amy. I consulted her over a few odd dreams which she attributed to demons and she recommended pouring salt over the threashold of my bedroom to prevent access.

Date: 2016-06-15 01:09 pm (UTC)I think the world is a lot more complex than pure logic allows. I think human efforts to explain or harness it are futile. This takes in religion as well... all our fundamentally flawed attempts to describe the indescribable. This by no means makes either useless, however.
No. Were I to go, it would have to be Madam Marie, whom Springsteen sang about.

Nope, but might be fun for entertainment. :p

Date: 2016-06-15 04:47 pm (UTC)Yes. Unless you mean Harry Potterish stuff.
Ive never paid a stranger for a reading of any kind, but Ive had lots of tarot and runes done by me or friends. I'm not sure what your definition of a medium is, but most of us at work can sense the 'ghosts' that are there, or have had at least one incident with one. Many Reiki practioners are sensitive, so they've told me things. Also, I grew up in a family that believed in dreams and psychic gifts. I've been studying since the eighties, and practising formally since the mid-nineties. Though I think much of what we associate with "magic" practise in the west is just adulterated Hindu ritual brought over by Madame Blavatsky (who is wonderful!), or copied Rom traditions. I suspect more has been reconstructed than directly passed down from Greece and Rome, but im in America, so you'd know better about that. Sorry, tangent.

Yes and no. I have a friend that reads cards and have had her do it for me a few times as well as palm reading.
