Been a very muggy warm day - not much sunshine but occasionally the sun bothered to announce itself from behind the clouds.  I seem to have let time flow by, just relaxing and hanging out. Watched people walk by whilst i was smoking my pipe on a bench for half an hour  this morning. However, i have now read another short book and will be onto my next.

I [aid my first two weeks rent at the hostel this morning - just sixteen pounds for the two weeks and very two weeks.

I been having a tasty jacket potato each day filled with different toppings. Yesterday it was tuna flakes in chill sauce, and today it was a stewed beef topping with coleslaw and salad. i have been using the Aldi store as that shop is the closest supermarket to me.

I also uploaded the VLC Media Player and You Tube Downloader soiftware. The latter will allow me to convert music vids into mp 3 or mp4 format.

Yesterday i also dwelt too much on what i had lost and was angry for a moment - in particular was a Lawrence Ferlinghetti CD - based on this book -

Then thee is the "Haunted Weather" book by David Toop , and i could go on - sigh!

Anyway, i look forward to my drink and meal visit in Whitstable tomorrow, and being Thursday it will be curry day!

Curry sounds good!
I had wondered if you had to leave some things behind. I am so sorry. I guess if we just look at them as 'things' it might help, but still :-(

Converting videos to MP3? Now that would be sweet. :)
I have tons of videos recorded from back in the day. :)
Hugs, Jon

Being able to convert videos to mp3 is wonderful, isn't it? I found a lot of soundtracks (film, TV and game) on youtube and while I do buy some, quite a few I can't...

You have been making some very yummy dinners :)

I guess you have to let things go, although I would have some of those same moments as you.

O to be sure I have had my moments of extreme anger and venom hurled towards that black sheep of a cousin.

I'm quite a fan of 4K Video Downloader - free, and does just what it says, coping with all the usual video sites. Give it an URL, and it'll show you what resolutions (and framerates, if there are HFR versions) are available, and their sizes, prompting you to choose one. All very easy, free, and available for OS X, Linux, and Windows.

It'll do audio track extraction as well, though ISTR it performs transcoding rather than a plain extraction, even when saving as AAC (given the prevalence of H.264 video and AAC audio in MPEG-4 containers), so I usually just fetch the best version, pull that into QuickTime Player 7, and extract the audio track, to avoid losing further quality.

On the cheap deliciousness front, check out the cooking bacon available from Sainsbury (and Tesco, though they're proud Workfare participants) - £1.15 for 667g is nothing to sneeze at. ^_^ The "basics" chicken curry is quite useful, too - it's a "chip shop" style, not even vaguely Indian, but you could use that either on a jacket potato or chips, or chop up some of said bacon plus some extra seasoning and serve with rice, for a surprisingly economical and nommy dish. Similarly, the "basics" chili, with both around 50p a can.
