It was relatively quiet in the coomon room until somebody put on the bloody Olympics on - yawn - so i am off to my room to watch a DVD. More Charmed maybe.

I understand why there are the Olympics, but sports generally bores me too. I go to baseball games with Dad because it is free and I love to people watch...and eat the food ;-)

I don't own a television, nor do I want to, but I've watched a couple of things from the Olympics online I'm more interested in the human dynamics without the unnecessary drama.

The only thing that I've seen that I felt was worth my time was the tragic ending of the French men's gymnastics team member's stay (he had to withdraw due to a broken tibia.) He broke it when he dismounted the vault...

Ironically, he had to withdraw from the 2012 Olympics due to an injury, but this one could be a career-ender.

Is there anything more annoying than a blaring TV when you don't care to watch? Hope you enjoyed the DVD.

Our Dr now has a huge TV in the waiting room and it was so loud I couldn't think to read - the sound hurt my ears. And it was droning on some news station w. all the dings and bells and music and such. None of the waiting patients were paying attn but sitting there trying to ignore it as we were. I asked it be turned down bc it was unpleasantly loud and the front desk person was surprised bc she said 'they could barely hear it.' Duh. She's sitting 25 feet away behind the sliding glass doors that are kept closed.
