Good morning dear readers. A bright if windy morning here in the town. I am in the local Spoons for the unlimited filter coffee available till two in the afternoon. Just £1.10 for as much as you can handle.

Weather is a bit iffy but quite sunny - at the momnet.

So meanwhile, another set of questions.

1. What’s your favorite way to stay cool in late summer?

2. Are you ready for autumn yet?

3. What do you have left to do before summer ends?

4. Has it been a good summer for you?

5. What are your plans for Halloween?

6. Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

1. Stay cool? Stay cool?! I'm sitting here in a long-sleeved t-shirt and cardigan and we keep having to put the heating on!

2. This year I don't have to be ready because we've retired, so no new academic year for us.

3. Nothing in particular.

4. Yes.

5. I have no plans. Why would I need to plan for Halloween?

6. No.

1. What’s your favorite way to stay cool in late summer? Staying indoors in the air conditioning or going swimming.

2. Are you ready for autumn yet? Always! It's my favorite season!

3. What do you have left to do before summer ends? Just continue working ...

4. Has it been a good summer for you? It's been way too hot (111-115 with the heat index until the past week when we've had a lot of rain.)

5. What are your plans for Halloween? Hiding from trick or treaters.

6. Have you started Christmas shopping yet? Not yet, but I do shop early.

Oh, definitely looking forward to summer ending! Mainly because I don't do the heat well, but also because the kids generally do better with a schedule.

We're going to see Rocky Horror Picture Show live in Sac on Halloween!

1. What’s your favorite way to stay cool in late summer?

AC and not leaving the house until it is dark.

2. Are you ready for autumn yet?

No, unless you mean weatherwise. The year has gone by too fast already but I am tired of the intense triple digit heat.

3. What do you have left to do before summer ends?

Everything? Serious health issues and the past 6 wks has been lost.

4. Has it been a good summer for you?

No. Again, serious health issues and the past 6 wks has been lost.

5. What are your plans for Halloween?

No idea.

6. Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

No. I haven't even thought of it in regards to gifts. It is going to be a lean holiday.

I'm lucky I get around to the Sunday Six on Tuesday!

1. What’s your favorite way to stay cool in late summer?

Late summer usually isn't the problem. It's Midsummer - Late July to Mid August here in NYC. The heat finally broke a couple of days ago, and the humidity is lower - though there are a couple of potential tropical storms currently threatening the Eastern Seaboard.

The way to beat the heat is to get near the rivers or an ocean. You can take a subway to Brighton Beach or Coney Island. If you're desperate to leave the city entirely, there's also buses or trains to Long Island or New Jersey.

2. Are you ready for autumn yet?

Autumn is my favorite time of year. The temps have cooled slightly, there's a bit less on the tourist side when it comes to negotiating the streets and sidewalks, and there's more of a sense of something going on. But then, all the holidays start coming and before you know it, the year is over.

3. What do you have left to do before summer ends?

I'm hoping to finish the structure of my novel before the end of summer, so I can write it before the end of autumn! I could probably use an office. Or, maybe I need a new city? Difficult to know...

4. Has it been a good summer for you?

It's been pretty good, sure. For some reason my allergies were extended past the end of May this year, and have just started to kick in again now, which is quite annoying. But I did get to go to Texas, which was both informative and fun, and I've gotten a lot of juggling in as well.

5. What are your plans for Halloween?

Speaking as someone who has worn more than a few costumes and/or makeup for a living wage, after you do that, Halloween really isn't a thing anymore. I always threaten to go and photograph the Village Halloween Parade but it's been about a decade since I actually went. Maybe I will, this year.

6. Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

Referring back to 2., the holidays get here and it's over. But I have a pretty small shopping list. No siblings, No grandparents, No spouse, no kids. I don't need to rush.
