On WiFi: would a MiFi loan be of any use? I have a Huawei E586 here sitting unused, though mine looks a little different (less rounded on the edges, and flat surfaces). It's currently locked to 3, I believe, but it looks like they'll unlock their devices for free.

Just turn it on, and up to five devices can connect to it over WiFI. Works pretty well - it was my connection back in Bath while BT worked out how to turn my line on, which only took about five cancelled visits, many phone calls (including some to staff actually in the UK!), and about six or seven weeks.. O.o
