Date: 2016-10-10 12:26 am (UTC)2. Not sure - we keep salad and tomatoes on hand but usually rely on canned/frozen veggies for meals bc of my disability and inability to cook most times. Depends on what is on sale and when I go shop. Melons we buy regularly during melon season.
3. Fried Okra is top choice but I do love mixed steam veggies w. carrots, onions, squash, etc.
4. Fresh peaches grown locally at Reeves Peach Farm.

Tough choices picking the best.
Maybe a fresh sweet corn or maybe sweet potatoes.
Maybe strawberries or bananas.

Date: 2016-10-10 04:54 am (UTC)We get a large bag of local produce delivered every week, plus I'll pick up more at the store for specific recipes.
Just for eating raw and by itself? I'd have to go with cucumber.
Off the top of my head, I'd say peaches.

Date: 2016-10-10 10:00 am (UTC)2. Usually bananas, pawpaw, kiwifruit, strawberries (in season), sometimes pawpaw, occasionally other fruits such as tamarillos, fijoas, dragonfruit, pineapple etc, potatoes, sometimes sweet potatoes, beans, pumpkin, cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes, some weeks capsicum, occasionally eggplant and sometimes corn. I grow my own snowpeas and silverbeet. Sometimes I buy silverbeet. I also grow my own English spinach. Before that I used to buy that weekly. The fruit has changed with this new low-sugar diet I'm on, now. I buy more blueberries than I used to.

4. Bananas!

Date: 2016-10-10 04:11 pm (UTC)Hard to say - I have a CSA basket so I buy most of my vegetables in one batch at the beginning of the year. Then I just go pick it up every two weeks until December. After that, I try to make do with whatever I have preserved from the summer, with the occasional supplement.
I just had some of the squash my sister grew, so right now that seems like the best. I'll eat almost any vegetable though.
Mango, or almost any summer berry.

Date: 2016-10-10 05:53 pm (UTC)* I shop every other week. But I'd say 6-8 different kinds of veg, and 2-3 different kinds of fruit
* Green beans. There are just so many ways to prepare them. But, really, I am a vegetable fiend.
* I'm not a big fruit person, but I love, love, love apricots.

Date: 2016-10-10 08:10 pm (UTC)Do you talk to yourself? Only rarely, usually reminding myself of something important that has to be done, like a doctot appt.
How many vegetables and fruits do you buy weekly? Varies, but we eat at least two veg with almost every supper, and salad veggies are popular for our lunches. We are all watching our weight, and a LOT of fruit is eaten in lieu of 'treats' with sugar!
In your opinion, what's the most delicious vegetable? red peppers! We like to add them in strips to broccolli and cauliflower and steam them for supper.
