AS i love to watch the less mundane ,more intellectual TV quizzes it prompted me to the following questions.

Do you shout out the answers at the TV while watching quiz shows?

Have you ever won any kind of quiz yourself?

Are you good at solving crosswords?

I don't know if it makes it to the UK, but there's an American quiz show called Jeopardy, and I used to be a huge fan. When I watched it I'd always call out the responses loudly, even if I was the only one in the room. :)

I love crossword puzzles, and Sudoku, too ...

Sometimes in the past, inadvertently, but not so much anymore (due to limited availability for seeing such shows at present).

Not that I can recall...

So-so, dependent on the level or degree/subject matter of the crossword.

Of course I shout out the answers at home, doesn't everybody? :D

I've never been on a TV quiz, but Mr. 42 and I were both MVPs of our schools' competitive quiz teams (thankfully in different states). It makes watching TV quizzes a great deal of fun.

I'm mediocre at crosswords (particularly English crosswords!), but I credit that to having little experience or patience with them :D

How 'bout yourself?

While I rarely watch quiz shows these days (or really any TV), yes, when I did I'd mutter the answers, or shout them if they were obvious and the contestant looked clueless.

I was Captain of the "Answers Please!" team for my high school, that being a local quiz show which featured high school students and asked questions ranging from historical facts to scientific trivia. My first time on it we beat the other team 135 to 40, of which 100 points had been scored by me.

I'm ... okay at crosswords. I don't have the patience to do a lot of them, so I'm not as good as I would be if I took them at all seriously.

I only shout them if my brother is watching with me. He's a big Jeopardy fan.

Does a spelling bee count? lol

If I'm in the right mood I am.

"Do you shout out the answers at the TV while watching quiz shows?"

Of course!

"Have you ever won any kind of quiz yourself?"

No.

"Are you good at solving crosswords?"

Yes, but much of that is doing enough crosswords that I remember the common clues. (Obscure words crossword-puzzle-makers like because of the useful letter combinations.)

Oh, hell yes.

No. I've never participated in one.

Yes. I'm heartbroken that the local paper no longer carries the NY Times Sunday crossword.

Bc of the tinnitus I don't watch game shows any more but when we did watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy we'd both be calling out the answers.

Spelling bees in grade school.

I am good at solving crossword puzzles and sudoku. We still get the daily newspaper and I work all the puzzles each day. I use the Fire tablet more for games than anything else and I can use when I'm in bed and can't sit up.

Like the first commenter, I'm a big Jeopardy fan. I don't watch it a lot during the summer as I'm usually watching a Seattle Mariners game at the time it's on. As baseball season winds down I'll watch more. I don't know that I shout out answers, but I do sometimes verbalize, especially if someone else is there. Always fun to realize I had the correct answer for Final Jeopardy when non of the contestants did. (For those familiar with the show, I should say, "correct question." For those not familiar with the show, responses have to be in the form of a question.

I don't recall every being in or winning any sort of quiz. But the years are mounting up and my memory isn't as sharp as it used to be.

Several years ago when I was temporarily out of work, I began doing the crossword(s) in the newspaper, primarily as a way to occupy my time. I found that as I worked at them I got better.

Yes.

No.

No. Though I have found that I am getting better at crosswords. Are they getting easier?
