Have you ever visited a 'real' haunted house as opposed to one created for the season?

Course I have. Ghosts are everywhere.

One very well known haunted house I've been in is called Hampton Court Palace.

I used to live in a house that we felt had a gentle spirit who rarely made herself known. We occasionally felt patches of warmer air or smelled smoke in one spot of the living room, but that was all we could discern. Acquaintances with more sensitivity to such things spoke of an older, welcoming lady living in that house years ago, who enjoyed conversation and company.

I absolutely LOVE the photo of this house. Thanks for sharing it, Dave!

Ghosts are everywhere.

I saw a few of 'em in my apartment in my mom's duplex.

I've never gone to one advertised as haunted, but have encountered spirits in places unexpectedly. And I've never gone to a Halloween haunt, although I think it would be fun.

It is possible I lived in one, the house I grew up in.

My sister-in-law and I were playing with a ouiji board one day shortly before my father sold the house. Had a fascinating conversation with an old Chinese ghost who said his name was Fwok Kops Wu, born in the San Francisco in the mid 1800s. When I asked him how he came to live in my house, he said "father" put him there. Some things cannot be explained. (there was a lot more to that conversation but it's a long story.)

Even so, I'm not sure I believe in ghosts anymore. I have come to realize I could have manifested that conversation and all the weird things that happened in that house when growing up from within myself. Otherwise, it doesn't make any logical sense (assuming there is a logical explanation for everything in the universe).
