Nope, sweet silence. Well, and the sounds of Tim snoring and cats stampeding through the house.

I use two, although one is only for when I'm sitting up reading.

I prefer just the sound of an open window, which in my current neighborhood is pretty nice because the neighbors across the street have a waterfall. I've slept with my window open in nearly all weather for years, but now I have air plants in my room and have to keep my window closed. And now I sleep with a CPAP, which makes more noise than I'd care for, but it doesn't bother me.

Just two, and I only sleep with one. The second one is for propping my head up if I watch TV, and I also use it to control the CPAP hose.

Slept only on my sides for years with the occasional stomach sleep. Couldn't sleep on my back due to snoring, but now can with the CPAP, which is so great because just sleeping on my sides led to a lot of snoring.

Hubby usually has the radio on, sometimes a hockey/football/baseball game and more usually, music. He sets it to turn itself off after a half hour. About half the year he also has the fan going.

How many pillows do you have on the bed? Five. Hubby has one, I have two to elevate my head and reduce stomach 'backsplash', and there is a fourth one between us in case we decide to 'cuddle up' at any point. The fifth one is small and used to position my arthritic hand and try to prevent waking to sudden pain!!

Do you sleep on your back, side, or front? Varies during the night, but almost never on my front.

1. No, I just read a chapter or two from a book or something from a magazine and have a cup of tea.

I always have my fan running (Singapore is so warm, you kind of have to...) And more often than not, I find myself falling asleep while watching videos.

Oh goodness, no. I do have a fountain across the room that cascades gently, but I'm very noise aware and don't want to concentrate, I want to sleep.

Like most people, I toss and turn, so probably all of those positions over an average night. I prefer side, but preferences are a conscious, not unconscious, decision.

I turn the heater/fan on, read my book, then turn all off and go to sleep. I find any little noise will keep me awake.

About eight :) But they're not all used for sleeping :)

Side. Used to be right side but right side now has bursitis. Mostly sleep on my left, now, except when that hip is playing up. Then I have to sleep on my back but then I snore, and wake up with a sore throat :(
