Going back to the seventies (again!) two albums which did get critically acclaimed with abysmal sales though are the two that Sheila McDonald recorded,"The Sheilagh McDonald Album" and "Stargazer",now collected on a double CD by Castle Music. The albums were recorded in 1970 and 1971,and she was poised to become the English Joni Mitchell or take over the mantle of Sandy Denny. Soon after the second album she promptly disappeared - just like Vashti Bunyan in some respects. These two albums are excellent slabs of folk-rock,filled out with rare live tracks, demos and outtakes. To select a highlight would be difficult but "Ophelia's Song" and "Stargazer" are just sublime. Highly recommended set. "Let No Man Steal Your Thyme" (Castle Music 2005 CMDDD1065)
