Akala "Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire" (Two Roads)

Akala, in Natives, covers how race and class have been addressed and held up in (as the title suggests) the ruins of the British Empire. Akala's book was such an interesting read, and it was fascinating to read it with the current backdrop of the drama currently going on in the British Royal Family with Harry and Meghan.

This book which was featured as the Radio 4 Book Of The Week is a thoroughly researched, well-organized, lucid, and highly readable examination of racism in the post-colonial UK, but with broader applicability to other first-world cultures. An important analysis of racial issues in contemporary societies.
I can categorically say that this is an informative, intelligent, world-view-changing analysis of the current zeitgeist.

Every teacher, politician, and voter should read this book. It will move, anger, and inspire in equal measure.
