American Splendor

After watching the quirky movie Ghost World, based on the Daniel Clowes comic,last night i watched another quirky offbeat film American Splendor , based on the autobiographical comics of Harvey Pekar, in which Robert Crumb illustrated some of his stories.I had seen both of these at the cinema but it is great to gave them on DVD. I found the American Splendor DVD in Poundworld of all places for a pound!




All i need now is the Crumb movie to complete this triumvirate quirky set.
American Splendor was shot around Harvey's home city of Cleveland.I recently read his Cleveland graphic novel last month.It also allows me to the Pekar icon above.

Another reason i love this film is the great soundtrack and that he is a record collector that loves jazz.
