It was a seedy dawn when we discovered that the electricity key meter was on its last gasp before being without the juice that powers the TV,computers, kettle etc. Thus, I had to instigate a quick trip to Faversham to sell some books at Past Sentence to top the key up. Again, the precipitation caused me to get soaked as it lashed down on my return.
A change of trousers and drying my hair , plus a hot coffee from cousin made it worthwhile, and now I am listening to some jazz and a few tracks from Pink Floyd's “Piper At The Gates Of Dawn” before lunch.
Picked up a paperback for 25 pence from a charity shop. A brand spanking new copy of “Captain Corelli's Mandolin” by Louis de Bernieres (Vintage).
(Note the anagram at the beginning of the first paragraph).
