The Solar Flare Formulation

A fine sunny day.
I did my usual “buddying” stint down at the library and helped one person who wanted to use Facebook. I had a chat with the librarian. We got talking about the different types of coffees, and he said that a tall flat was his favourite. For me, a strong macchiato is my tipple of the bean.
Last night I watched a downloaded Horizon programme on the threat of solar flares to the Earth. Equally fascinating and disconcerting. Within the next two years we could see a high point in the number of solar flares that could disrupt communications and the modern technological infrastructure. Worth watching on the BBC iPlayer.
The following paragraphs addresses some issues from the previous evening.
Another evening down at the Dover Castle which was good until little Steve came. I knew it would end up as a later night than expected. Also, their combined political blinkered outlook would have my hackles raised Combine that with their jingoistic “nigger music” hating diatribe , historically inaccurate prejudice, and so forth, had me biting my lip in silence in foaming expletives. The BNP would love you.
Thank god that I got to know my buyer at Past Sentence as a committed socialist, and concurred with him that Tony Benn was our last great statesman. An intelligent, candid forthright advocate for the cause of the working man.
I am not a Blairite , never have been, found him too smarmy, and nor am I a Trotskyite as cousin assumes , probably closer to a Lenin and a Marxist but sanguine enough to know you need your business people to create wealth, such as the great man, Richard Branson, who gives back to the people the wealth he makes. He should have run Camelot.
Also, these fucking Tory wankers think that socialism is the politics of envy. Fuck that analysis, it ain’t , it's the philosophy of fairness for all.
Who was it that helped him out with the electricity key meter when we would be without the juice , well it was moi , comrades, socialist me. Sold books I did not really want to sell to make sure we would not be in the dark.
Oh , and a final gripe cousin, get your science facts right when talking about the age of the Earth against the age of the universe.. Earth is 4.54 billion years old compared to the universe of 14 billion years old approximately. When it comes to cosmology, the quantum universe and so on then I am the man to speak to.
Bloody rant over and done with, comrades.
I have been dipping into a book from the library called “The Rest Is Noise, Listening To The Twentieth Century” by Alex Ross (Harper Perennial). The focus is mostly on modern classical music but it is a thoroughly enjoyable book to read, and covers the composers I have always been interested in.
