I have had so many kind emails and replies and to everyone a BIG BIG THANKS, it helps the pain and the loss, esp. a really touchig one from Anne Woodward-Nutt, a fellow researcher.-
Dave
I am so sorry - and I really understand how you are feeling because I've been through this many times. But I know you will get over it in time; you'll remember what a beautiful cat Tiggy was, how she used to make you laugh and seemed to be enjoying the joke too; how she would wrap herself round your legs when it was her breakfast time and wrap you round her little paw when she decided you should be doing her a big favour (probably food-wise)
I've always had a cat (one was another Tigger!) since I was a kid. There were no branded domestic animal foods in those days and often my mum would spend some of our food coupons buying the cats a nice piece of steak for a treat. Of course all 4 of my kids find life is not fulfilling without a nice moggie or two.
It's so good that for Tiggy's passing she was able to be at home with the people she loved and the comfort she was used to. However good the vets, their surgeries aren't the best place to be in such a time.
Anyway please accept my sympathies - and all cat lovers appreciate how you are feeling right now.
Anne

David,
I am very sorry to hear about Tiggy. I grew up with cats, so I know how you feel. Remember, you have something very precious. You have fond memories of your time together and the knowledge that you gave her much happiness.
Thinking of you in you time of sadness,
I am so touched.
