Well, what a surprise!.Sometimes these PRS visits do throw up some surprises and this had me absolutely gobmacked.
The Portland pub on a Fridays usually have a tribute band or other such imitators but last night it was early 70's rock group JUICY LUCY ,whose first LP was on the classic swilry VERTIGO label, and they now have a new recoding out,,which their singer RAY OWEN (and original member of the band) told me in conversation before they started the first set,and copies were available to purchase on the night. He still looks good at 59 - oops sorry Ray - for splatting your age acroos these pages - and was in fine voice all night. The band played a terrific set of new and old stuff including MISSISSIPPI WOMAN and Bo Diddley's WHO DO YOU LOVE (in the second set). It was like nirvana listening to them undimmed by the passing of time.
I wished i had brought the digital camera though. No pics to take. Oh well.http://www.juicylucyinfo.co.uk/
