Strange Days

jazzy_daveStrange evening last night at the Volks Tavern doing my PRS ,which was a DJ visit,as half of the time it was live acts. There is a small basement room with a pair of decks for DJ's but nobody was using it. I had begun to wonder if it was another cock-up by Maritz (my resesrch company for the PRS). So had to play it by ear,and with luck,was given a playlist,which definitely helps when you have DJ's as artists doing micro-samples and creating their own thing.
One of the Dj's was KARSTEN PFLUM,who mainly play his own micro-sampled stuff,and stylistically is in a junglist electronica mode. Weird and minimalist, and difficult to find where his samples came from but thorougly entertaining.Check his mySpace site at: http://www.myspace.com/pflum
