The Biscuit Factory
Jul. 29th, 2007 10:19 amAnother general PRS visit to The Biscuit Factory pub in Hove last night. Two DJs spinning vinyl , one a Chinese and both very helpful in aiding me to fill out the sheet. They had some problems at first setting up the equipment, first it was thought to be an earthing problem but it turned out to be a faulty mixer, which they replaced with a more sophisticated one. Should have started at 9pm and after a false start at 9.30 pm they eventually spun the records at 9.45pm. Music was a variety of funk,r&b and hip hop.
My favorites included "Dominoes" by Donald Byrd" and "Adventures In Paradise" by Minnie Ripperton, plus "Sound of Da Police" by KRS One.
Like the Art House visit all vinyl stuff.
Only booked to do the two hours I left at 11.30 pm,hence a shorter filled out questionnaire. Weather had also turrned very nasty. Thank goodness i brought my large umbrella.Torrential rain.
This morning a quick visit to the boot sale t the station. It was cold and dull and the dark clouds had kept many stall holders away. Picked up two one pond LPs , The Impressions "For Your Precious Love" (DJM) and Maggie Bell "Queen Of The Night" (Polydor) - this 1970 LP has recently been re-issued on vinyl as i am sure i saw a copy in Borderline during the week.
