Simone And me
Sep. 12th, 2020 07:47 pmSo, I leave this morning expecting to get two jobs done, right. So far so good. I get to Rochester and wait for another 700 bus to Bluewater because I missed the last bus by one fucking minute. So I end up in a chazzer and Bobbins Bookshop finding a couple of CDs and a book on Billie Holiday.
What expired was a major accident on the A2 motorway in both directions making all the Bluewater buses go via the Medway Tunnel missing Rochester. In the end I did not get to the shopping mall till almost three. I finally got home via a free train journey at five-ish. So, rather flustered , I bought some red wine, hence the bottle of vino this evening.

So for now I am listening to the music of Nina Simone. I was very lucky to see her once in Brighton at The Dome and it was an electric evening. I took Merly with me, a Filipino lass I had a crush on. Nina had her usual trio of drums and bass whilst she was on the piano. An unforgettable evening.
Nina's music will live on.
