Jazz and Books
Jan. 15th, 2021 01:29 pmThis morning I had English Breakfast tea for a change. I supped that whilst reading some more of the book Brideshead Revisited - and finding it a bit slow - but alas I slog on chapter by chapter - chapter five at the moment. Well, I keep leaving it and reading something else. I am not going to give up on it. I wonder if that TV version is on Britbox?
Then I turn to Seamus Heaney and the collection 100 Poems and dip into that for a while. Then I read some pages from Wire and in particular the Primer on Carla Bley.
Weather is dull and anaemic. But the HiFi is sounding around the room with jazz. Lennie Tristano kicked things off. The post came and now my CD from Jazz in Britain has arrived and now playing this wonderful set of two recording form 18668 and 1965.

Also in the post, sooner than expected, three books form my brother
coming42 and as I love to read about the art and cultural scene of France these are just the ticket.

Time for some lunch.
