Saturday afternoon i took a journey over to Ashford to do a couple of charity shops and a cinema visit which meant that i got back very late at night. Apart from the initial chagrin i received from my cousin he was very pleased with the belt and the CD i gave him.

The only problem is that the belt split apart this morning. Well it was a cheap one, but i will find another next chazzer trip.

First port of call was in Faversham to the book fair. I picked up another Primo Levi book in a Folio Society edition for £3 , his “If This Is A Man”, and “The Gentle Art Of Smoking” by Alfred K. Dunhill ((Max Reinhardt Ltd.).

In Ashford i bought a T shirt for myself, that belt, and a classical CD plus some books. The CD is a compilation of French orchestral music including music by Satie, Bizet and Ibert.

The books are -

Philip Pullman “Count Karstein” (Corgi)
India Knight “Comfort and Joy” (Penguin)
Jiri Weil “Mendelssohn Is On The Roof” (Daunt Books)

I then went to see a film at Cineworld and watched the latest Mel Gibson film. A fairly good thriller. However , i must have had a senior moment as the chappie behind the counter sold me a Concessionary ticket so it only cost £6.50 instead of the usual £7.90. He must have thought i was an O.A.P , cheeky bugger, but i didn’t mind as it was a bit cheaper than normal.

Tomorrow i will be in Sittingbourne and cousin is going to his specialist at St.Thomas Hospital in London.
