Hello, it's Dave Furwits from Classics Affray dot com. .. oops the wrong channel, I am mixing up with Hurwitz from Classics Today.com lol!! I do watch his YouGoob posts so I am familiar with his opening style.
Yep, loads of classical on the CD player today. A couple of cheap finds in town, and hence, a welcome addition to my Stravinsky collection which
clandestiny approved of on FB.
The complete Rakes Progress based on the Hogarth drawings and sung in English. Bought that from eBay for a mere three quid.
Also, a Brahms piano collection that I took a punt on as he is not one of my favourite Romantic composers. But the coupling was intriguing with some prestos and chaconnes based on the oeuvre of J.S.Bach. Not bad. Idi Biret is a good interpetator of the music.
The other cheap find was a compilation of classic jazz trumpets from the early period to the swing period. Not bad. Lots of tooting tunes to tap yer feet tapping too!
Lunch was a very tasty chicken and stuffing with veg and roast washed down with craft ale. I followed it with a sticky toffee pudding. Now I feel bloated lol!!
I played the latest GYBE CD last night. Oh my! Back to their old selves. Damn effing good magisterial post-rock drone symphonic catharsis. Awesome!!
