A book on the history of medieval West Africa- a real eye opener!
I tend to read just one at a time.
Around twenty books atm.

2) What book are you reading now (or what book did you read most recently)?
I picked up a four-in-one volume of Mary Stewart and enjoying it. (I find I can't read challenging stuff like I used to, and happily enjoy middlebrow books lately.)
3) What is the best book you read in the past few years?
The Art of Resistance. Loved it so much I had to own it.
4) Do you read more than one book at a time, or just one?
One at a time.
5) How big is your to-be-read pile (or list)?
Well, I have a lot of books, most of which I've read, but some are in the "will read soon" category. What I read depends upon what comes into the library. I have a search set up for my favorite authors, and I pay attention to recs my LJ friends make. If I find I want to read it NOW, I may buy it from eBay. That's generally quicker than working my way through a waiting list at the library.
