The thing that bugs me about that Nino Nardini lp is that it's not actually by Nino Nardini, who recorded some amazing stuff that really stretched the boundaries of "library style". The "Nino Nardini & Pop Riviera Group" is actually the Soul Providers Desco/Dap-Tones crew and they're ok, but a bit too generic on that LP imo.

Love the African Scream Contest comp too, and if you like that you'll love the Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou "The Vodoun Effect" release on the same label which is easily its equal.

Yeah i have a few proper nardini LP's too and a single on Jazzman. Agrre with you about the African Scream Contest LP. Played a couple of tunes from it last night at The Hampton.

I guessed the Nardini LP was not a real one being on the Desco label which i know has released other dodgy releases. Still quite funky though!
