What is happening in Libya is innervating verging on the deplorable as Gaddafi hopelessly tries to cling to power. Shooting at worshippers and his own people shows what an evil tyrant he is, hence the Latin phrase above - Homo homini lupus - man is a wolf to man. The sooner somebody bumps him off the better.
After all the crapola emanating from the idea of the Big Society as espoused by Cameron et all, it is becoming apparent that the swingeing cuts in public services is detrimental to such an ideal. It is backfiring on them in many ways and that withdrawing funds from good causes will not create the “good society” they report to foster. Albeit, the policies and the cuts will be divisive and polarizing causing deeper privation and social stress. Once again the proletariat is at the mercy of the capitalist overlords. Revolution is the only way forward.
In fact the Big Society is just a slogan. An empty handed gesture from an out of touch elite.
I had about seven pounds in my Play Trade account to which I used to get another Slavoj Zizek book which arrived yesterday -
The Metastases of Enjoyment” (Verso)
I have also transferred a further twelve quid from this site into the bank account. Like Discogs it is ticking over quite nicely.
Here is a snapshot of my current reads , alternating from one book to the other as i read them.
