Last week I watched the BBC drama Christopher And His Kind, based on the time that writer Christopher Isherwood spent in pre-war Berlin in the thirties with the rise of Nazism. It is also the basis for the musical Cabaret based on the real life chanteuse ….. , the Sally Bowles of the Berlin Diaries. Matt Smith (current Dr. Who actor) played Christopher , and was marvellous in it. The one and a half hour drama was one of the best pieces of television I have seen for awhile.

I will have to get the complete Berlin Diaries in paperback and I might even get “A Single Man”, the other Isherwood novel turned in a film, also starring Colin Firth.

Saturday night I saw the film “The King's Speech” , from a dongle I loaded from Tim's laptop (as his DVD player can play films from such a device). The official  DVD will not be out for awhile. Anyway, the film is brilliant. No wonder it won all those Oscars , and that It confirms Colin Firth as a great actor. I have now downloaded the film onto my laptop to watch all over again.

A very good journey from Kent this morning , leaving Teyhnam just after nine and arrived at St.Peters Church 1.25 pm. Tomorrow is msytery shopping day and posting off more vinyl sales, with Friday night being my DJ stint down at The Northern Lights.
