So Chalkwell buses , apparently, do not do Explorer tickets. Perhaps I was confused with Renown, the coach and bus company in the Sussex area, who do them and priced at the same level as Stagecoach do in Kent (specifically £5.80). I must admit I though they all did the Explorer, or perhaps the driver was too lazy to find the right button and give me a ticket. I ended up using the usual Arriva bus to get down to the Sussex Coast.
Saturday night was the gig night at the Northern Lights eaterie. Had my favourite meal, the reindeer and bacon roulade with dauphinois potatoes and vegetables washed down with the Orkadian Northern Light beer (4% ABV). I was also reading the Philip Pullman book “Northern Lights”.This is how the Lights describe the meal - “This Scandinavian inspired dish is served with beetroot reduction, buttery greens and dauphinois potatoes “

It was heaving ,and as usual, found myself stuck upstairs ,finding it awkward to get through the mass of bodies, and needing refreshments. Still managed to get some beers down the gullet and a few Fisu, (Fisherman’s Friend vodka ) shots from the zany owner Manu.
A good night but now today a day of rest and doing nowt.
