The usual crowd were at the Evening Star. Nigel, postman Mark, Jersey Chris, Sarge , Paul and Ewan. Had a couple of the Smoked Porter.
Felt a bit like a stranger having not spoken to them for a while, and left with a tinge of sadness. I think my next visit to Brighton will have to be longer , and have intimated this already to GC.
Picked up a cheap hardback copy of “Agent Zig Zag” by Ben McIntyre from Sandpiper Books from their back room. I have given this to GC as I prefer hardbacks to paperbacks wherever possible. I have read the book already since I had a paperback copy from the World Book Night event earlier this year.
Bought for myself Julian Barnes's latest novel, and the winning Booker prize title “The Sense Of An Ending” , obviously in hardback.
Back to Kent tomorrow.
