Ashford to Maidstone Round Trip
Nov. 12th, 2011 07:15 pmIt has been a foggy crap day but at least a dry one. I took a round trip to Ashford and Maidstone., stopping off at Faversham to buy a couple of charity shop books and one from the market.
Specifically these are -
“The Piano Teacher” Janice Y.K Lee (Harper Press) 25p
“Sunshine” Alex Garland (Faber) 50p
“The Unicorn” Iris Murdoch (Vintage) £1
In Ashford I promised cousin I would get him a CD of the Manic Street Preachers , which I purchased from the HMV store.
I perused the charity shops but found nothing of interest.
I then took a bus to Maidstone and had a beer at the Muggleton Inn. Then ,from the Oxfam shop, I bought “Superstrings” by David Peat (Abacus) for another quid. A science book for a change from the usual novels, history or philosophy mix.
