I see that after 27 years of barrier less journeys from Victoria to Gatwick via Gatwick Express , making it easy for travellers with luggage to get to the airport, are now having to face barriers again. Who is the misguided plonker who thought that one up, since the service had ticket inspectors constantly on board so you could buy a ticket on train, and fare dodging did not occur. Nuts!
In fact it will be just as easy getting there by Southern Rail, which is only a few minutes longer, at a much cheaper price
Still with public transport, and relating to London, I see that the bendy buses have been scrapped in favour of a new style of Routemaster bus. I loved the old Routemasters and to see them come back in some form next year is a positive move. However, the bendy buses did improve the time it took to jump on board a bus, with lesser queues to get on, unlike the standard models.Apparently, they were a fare dodger's heaven.
The bendy ones are going to Malta..So no much use there then.
