A rather grey misty and wet day for my first visit to Deal. I went from Canterbury, and took the number 14 bus, a circuitous route that went through Littlebourne, Wingham, Ash and the lovely cinque port of Sandwich.
The weather slightly dampened the enjoyment of the trip around this part of Kent, but the splendour of Sandwich made up for it. A town full of historical buildings and narrow streets that reminded me much of the centre of Lewes.
I took a different route on the journey back. Boarded the number 15A bus towards Dover, passing Walmer Castle on the way, and then the main A2 back to Canterbury.
Although I did peruse a number of charity shops along the way , I ended up buying no books for two reasons : nothing inspired me and for the time being I have enough to get through.
This evening watched Have I Got News For You, and the Miranda Xmas special ,which was first shown last Christmas, followed by the best of QI and a BBC film “Tamara Drewe”..
