Today Georgina and i had dinner at Cage Rouge in Brighton Marina. She was spending vouchers from Tesco shopping and treated me to late birthday dinner right out of the blue. A wonderful surprise!

We decided not to have a starter but go straight to the main course. We had an Americano coffee to drink whilst perusing the menu.

I opted for the Bavette, a French cut of steak marinated in rosemary and garlic. It was absolutely gorgeous and divine.

Georgina had the Poulet Breton, which is tender sauteed chicken breast, Paris mushrooms and roasted courgettes in a rich cream, white wine & herb sauce served with creamy mash.That too looked delicious.

Then for dessert we both had the Assortiment De Desserts, which was  a threesome of chocolate ganache, crème brûlée and tarte au cittron - all absolutely yummy foods to finish with.  I could have said a trio of desserts, but i wanted to accentuate the sexual connotation of the food, because to me great food is like great sex. It should be orgasmic.

I had the grin of a Cheshire cat after that meal. Then before i return to Kent tomorrow, a visit to La Tasca with my brother and GC. Perfect.
