A day out in Canterbury as I had a couple of visits to do and cousin was going to the hospital for a barium meal, apparently.

I travelled by bus and stopped in Faversham to pick up some cheap 45’s going at 10p each including “Native New Yorker” by Odyssey - one of my favourite soul disco tracks of all time.

In Canterbury I had to visit the Red Cross chazzer. Picked up two books and a CD for a fiver , specifically -

Iris Murdoch “The Message To The Planet” (Penguin)
Robert Nye “Mrs. Shakespeare” (Sceptre)

And

Norah Jones - Come Away With Me (Capitol CD)

Had a pint of Ringwood Old Thumper at a Wetherspoons beforehand. Cousin met me outside the Bell and Crown pub and afterwards we went down to the Westgate Inn (my other visit) for a meal. I had the Brunch Burger and he had the Mexican Burger washed down with a White Knight ale and a Guinness for him.

Yesterday was spent mostly in the garden soaking up the glorious sunshine and listening to some music on the Sony mp3 player, from jazz to blues to classical stuff. Mike sure does like his Rachmaninov.

Rachmaninoff
