Last few days have been topsy turvy and a case of walking on egg shells, albeit due to losing my friends birthday treat , and her loyalty card ,followed by an M&S meal deal fiasco. Suffice to say, I was an utter buffoon. I gave her a gorgeous rock n' roll photographic book from Sandpiper Books as recompense and I hope that she will forgive me.
We all over react sometimes, and I for one know that feeling very well. Contrary to opinion, that my pre-Copernican view of a universe revolving around my little world, is somewhat unfounded, despite my gnomic utterances in defence of such flaws.
Pointillistic painting over such glabrous hubris is a trait that defines my being, and for which I need to overcome. Self analysis over and done with.
Overall though a good few days away from the village. Popped into he Evening Star to see some old friends such as Nigel.
Tried a few new beers as well, including the honey dew flavour of the Dark Star Revelation (5.7% ABV) and the strong imperial stout , Magic Rock Bearded Lady (10.5 % ABV). Though not tried the Thornbridge / Dark Star collaboration Puja, that has the smell of jasmine, but i did get to try a small sample of it, as the beer was not ready to be pumped to the taps. Quite interesting flavours there!
On my way back to the village did a minor detour to Sevenoaks for one vist before a second one in Maidstone. First time to Sevenoaks and it is a lovely little town, and is as quaint as Rochester.
