Faversham in Kent has been announced as the ‘Neighbourhood with the Best Buzz’, a unique award from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s Making a Buzz for the Coast project working in partnership with Kent Wildlife Trust’s ‘Wild about Gardens’ scheme.
The Making a Buzz for the Coast project is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The team are thrilled to be part of this fantastic scheme to recognise the communities efforts to create pollinator friendly gardens.
Five colourful large plaques and 50 small plaques were presented at an award ceremony held in Faversham adhering to government guidance. Each plaque will be displayed to highlight the outstanding work carried out by Faversham as a town and community across its gardens, allotments, verges and public spaces that are especially attractive to bumblebees and other pollinators.
