Another selection of finely cut groovery.

Electronic System - Skylab

Groovy Belgian synth funk tune that I found way back in 2000 - exploded on the DJ scene in the chill out rooms in Brighton with my mates Ally  Smith and DJ Abo. Track from 1974 in fact.

Kool And The Gang - Summer Madness

These two go well together in a set.

Syreeta Wright and Stevie Wonder - To Know You is To Love You

Tanya Tagaq - Toothsayer

Toothsayer, a 5-track companion soundtrack to the circumpolar exhibit, is a conceptual collection that expands Tagaq's prestigious compositional body of work with ambient electronic and piano-driven textures, and features Tagaq in concert with long-time percussionist Jean Martin and UK experimental electronic artist Ash Koosha.

Wigwam - Pressure Time Field

Pressure Time Field

The weather remained sunny and git warmer by the afternoon.I managed an hour of sunbathing this afternoon before having to go and get some provisions. I had pizza slices with a side salad. I also enjoyed a bottle of rioja vino.

I watched all the episodes of Iron Fist so next i will probably have to watch the second season of Daredevil. Then i will probably re-watch The Defenders.

The rest of the day has been either reading and listening to music.

Another gorgeous sunny day. I did some sunbathing this morning , and another session this afternoon.

I just had a delicious pepperoni pizza washed down with red wine. I also made a side salad to go with it that included Gorgonzola cheese.

Time flies by and it will soon be September.

Work is quiet at the moment but then there is always a lull before the bank holiday weekend - feels like a sucking void at the moment.

Went out during the afternoon as it stopped raining. I bought some food items for a salad, and some other personal hygiene products. I then looked around the charity stores and found these two CD;s for a quid each -

The Cinematic Orchestra - Ma Fleur

A great chilled out album from 2007

The Cinematic Orchestra - Time And Space (feat. Lou Rhodes)

And from 1991 -

Salif Kieta - Amen

and from that i have chosen this track -

Salif Keita - Kuma

Enjoy.

Today has been one of chillin' out.
It was too hot and sunny for anything else.
So all i did was sunbathe and increase my tan.
Then later listened to the radio ,and played some music.
Had pizza for lunch washed down with vino
A red wine ,a fine Tempranillo.

After pulling out the envelope to get seven visits done in a day , a feat that i do not want to repeat too often,i took out my own advice and decided to chill out for most of the day today and recharge the batteries. Anyway what i have left is just supermarket visits ,some for a morning period of 8.30 am to midday or from 4 -8 pm. Anyway, there are just three visits left so one i could do this evening.

I had a lie-in this morning. I listened to Desert Island Discs with Kirsty Young on BBC Radio 4, and then the book of the week. The book is This Long Pursuit: Reflections of a Romantic Biographerr by Richard Holmes.

I have bought quite a few books that i listened to via the radio such as th bio on Angela Carter.

I now have Xmas cards and a wonderful selection of books from [livejournal.com profile] grondfic that came in the post yesterday including a Xmas card

.

Earlier in the week i received this from Amazon.

One of the writers in this selection is none other than [livejournal.com profile] itjustis.

Well, folks, i have a book to post today sold from Ebay - one that i had already read -a book that my bro gave me from his unending pile of books. I also have Xmas cards to post before the damn postalstrike next week.

Another fine sunny and slightly humid day here in the Bourne. Also, a day of mostly relaxing and chilling out. In fact i did not go to Faversham as planned but that will be done tomorrow as well as the visit to the island.

I also re-arranged my bookcase (such as it is) in my room - it is pretty full now.

Brother sent me a couple of burned CD's of more funky jazziness which i shall listen to later.

Another quality tune from the Cinematic Orchestra - To Build A Home , from the album Ma Fleur.

Such a lovely song.

And now it is hanky and tissue time , same song with sad moments from BtVS Season 6.

Sniffles.

My bro posted a quality tune on FB today , he wrote, "In the midst of decorating, listening to BBC Radio 2, and Steve Wright just played this. I had the original album on vinyl and this track is a gem of jazz/funk from 1974" . I had that same album plus a live album with this track on it.

Kool And The Gang - Summer Madness

Blissed out jazz funk and i really dig that synth sound.

Plus this one from 1977, Ramp - Everybody Loves The Sunshine

Yeah man, looking forward to the summer

Finally, a soulful jazz tinged track featuring Michael Henderson on vocals,
Norman Connors - You Are My Starship.

Totally chilled out now. Enjoy.

Had a lie in , well it is Sunday, hence my morning music post is just a little later than usual. Today it is four tracks with the linked theme of one artist who user to be part of the early 80's group The Art Of Noise, produced by Trevor Horn - also famous for producing the two massive hits by Frankie Goes To Hollywood back in the eighties.

And as it a Sunday, these are very chilled out grooves from ambient electronica to modern classical composition. Anne Dudley straddles both genres as well as writing film scores , such as Tristan and Isolde.

First track is the beautiful "Moments In Love" by The Art Of Noise.

Next up from the Art Of Noise album The Seduction of Claude Debussy" is this track - Il Pleure -

And finally from her 1995 album Anne Dudley does this gorgeous choral and lush orchestral piece from the
Ancient & Modern CD, Canticles Of The Sun And Moon.

Also from the same album is this track, Veni Emmanuel.

Enjoy.
