Bexhill Visit
Apr. 21st, 2007 08:46 pmWell a quick visit to Bexhill procured a number of items for the collection after doing a road users satisfaction survey. First off a CD of an artist i have not heard of before but made four LP's in the seventies, the divinely gorgious Catherine Howe, and a recent reissue of two her mid-seventies albums "Harry / Silent Mother Nature" (BGO CD 2006), and definitely the thumbs up from me,then another Stax/Volt Singles series, this time Vol 7 for only £3.50 (beat that Borderline!!!), and a compilation "Eastern and Hip" which is a collection of jazzy modal tune with an eastern flavour. Also picked up a stereo copy in minter condition than my mono fairly heavily scratchy copy of Tom Jones "Green Green Grass of Home" LP (Decca),and thus will get rid off old mono version in an exchange or sale.
My bruv wanted me to look out for "Scandal" ,either tthe soundtrack CD or the DVD or video of it, on my travels but unable to find in Bexhill, but tomorrow in the southern suburbs London (Beckenham to be precise) so should be able to help.
Great start to a two parter with DR.WHO this evening with the DALEKS back ,set in depression era New York and a show tune for the first time in any Dr.Who program, and i can't wait to see the conclusion next week.DALEKS in Manhattan - and the story line goes that they help to complete the Empire State Building but for their own means. Well our relations in the States will just havre to wait.
Wel,l tonight off to do a PRS DJ visit at The Standard - so more banging disco tunes and lots i will probably hate, except for Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" (sassy video too!!).
