More productive than even I expected. Finished my last visit in Sittigbiurne again, which by my calculations makes six in all and a healthy £86 earned when I get paid from all the various companies.

I am waiting to get back home from the Bourne to sleepy Faversham but the barriers are down at the station and the rozzers have not gone yet so I guess it will be after nine that I can catch a train home. Not paying any more fucking money today after a discovery ticket.

I am typing this in a McDonalds which is not too far from the station. Same area as my last covert shop in fact.

At least I finished all my reports. This is because both ESA Retail and IPSOS has apps which makes the work available on the go so easy. So when I get home I can relax, put my feet up, turn on the hi-fi, get the pipe, smoke and relax to some music.

From my covert shop in Maidstone, I did buy this DVD -

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children [DVD] [2016]

It was part of my three quid spend at the supermarket that is owned now by Walmart.

I hope to watch it over the weekend.

Somedody has left some DVD's in the community room on the table dedicated for giveaways.I picked up some coffee from there, now that we have our coomunity room which is all redecorated with new carpet and wallpaper.Anyway, somebody must be a horror fan or one who likes mysteries, as they chucked out the following-

The Exorcist
The Last Exorcism
The Grudge
The Girl On The Train
Hollow Man

Expect some nights in a darkened rooom.Boo!

That film, The Nun,was creepy fun too!

Today I popped back to Past Sentence in Faversham to offload more unwanted books. Well, all the books I buy are wanted and looked after, but sometimes you just have to cull! Anyway, with the load I took yesterday and those I brought over today I made a respectable £17.

I asked the lady who runs the shop with her husband about her mum. She said she is fine after the operation. They had to remove a small piece form her lung. I did not enquire further about it but said that I wished her well and that she recovers quickly.

I am on my way to Ashford to do a couple of jewellery shop visits. I left it a bit late and will be catching the three o'clock bus to do them. I did some more packing this morning ,and now that I am on top of it, just got a box and a half to fill; Place is looking really bare now except for the boxes.

So meanwhile I am having a nifty pint in the Leading Light pub.

Last night a watched a stunningly wonderful Anime film “Ghost In The Shell 2 : Innocnece” produced by the same company that gave us “Spirited away” an d “Howl;s Moving Cas

After visiting the library i then popped into my local pub with my laptop to watch epsidoe 11 of Star Trek Discovery and of course a pint of beer. Then i picked up a pizza for my evening dinner.

I listened to a CD that arrived today via Amazon. It was at a cheap and cheerful price.

This is a superb piece of vocal jazz from Jeanne Lee with consumate support by ran Blake.

I also have this DVD to watch - found in a charity shop today -

It might have been windy but we had blue skies in Tenterden today.

These are the ten books found at just over a quid each.

This is the oldest paperback from 1962.

I also found tow DVD's - Inception , and Being John Malkovich - which i have watched already. I remember this being a weird film amd it still is - a classic by Sike Jonze.

Well ,that was a long and satisfying day. I picked up a few DVD's,The Time Traveller's Wife,The Libertine,Amelie, and Sin City.

The main items form my charity shop visits was this jumper and lovely scarf. The jumper came in handy for today's rather cool freeze but as the day progressed it did get warmer.

It has been another day of just chilling out and relaxing =in which i listened to the radio, read copiously and listens to some music on CD,as well as watching the DVD "Robot Chicken Star Wars II".

robochick

Really really funny. Seth Green and company have made a corker! And yes, it is that Seth whom was Willow's boyfriend in the Buffy TV series.

So after awhile, having eaten some pizza,i decide to go out somewhere to use the net but Sittingbourne Spoons' is too crowded tonight so i went to Faversham there to surf the net at their Spoons pub. Hence here i am blogging.

Had a really relaxing day of chilling out , listening ti the radio or music and watching some DVD's - mostly re watching episodes of Angel Season 1. I only popped out to get some pizza and some wine.

I made the decision not to do much as i an working this Sunday anyway.

Throughout the week i have caught up with all my fantasy Tv series, The Flash, Agents of SHIELD , Legends Of Tomorrow and Supergirl. I have also been reading more than at the beginning of the year, and i guess that is due to the fact that some recent long bus journeys have helped with that

Talking of reading material, the books i found for ten pence (in a charity shop) include a screenplay to Trainspotting and Shallow Grave,a study book on Shakespeare's Othello and these twp books-

I also fond these on my main visit in Tenterden , but not at ten pence sadly.

O have just finished a graphic novel as well by Harvey Pekar "The Quitter".

Well, going out soon to meet Phil for a beer.

A fairly productive day - three visits today, two in Canterbury and one in Maidstone. A charity,a restaurant and a supermarket. At the charity shop i bought books, had a Belgian meal with beer, and finally two cheap DVD's from the supermarket.

The most enjoyable part was the meal. My starter was lambs heart in a red wine sauce with mashed potato. The main was chicken served in a balsamic and rosemary honey glaze also with mashed spud. Both were delicious and made a very filling meal for just a tenner!

Details of the books and DVD's later.

I eased into the work again by doing a couple of Mystery shops in Sheerness and Faversham ,both charity shops.I picked up a Firetrap designer T shirt and DVD for a fiver in the former town, and DVD's and books from the latter. The DVD's are the first tow Thor films, Thor and The Dark World.

I also have another DVD fromthe second shop of Ghost World.I love this film and was so happy tofind it again for only a £1.

I have watched both films this evening hence the reason i blogging late again.

The books are the following-

Well, last year i read 98 books and i hope to achieve the same if not more - i know that one LJ person has read 212 in a year, but i will never be able to achieve that ,so my modest aim will be 90 to 100.
jazzy_dave: (Default)
The rest of the day has been spent listening to the radio, or reading ,or listening to music. I am thinking of watching the Beasts film tonight and if not it will be back to watching more DVD's of Babylon 5 from season 4.

There are two other films i want to see - Arrival , and A Street Cat  Named Bob Film.

Deferred

I have deferred these visits for tomorrow now as it will be more cost effective to do them in one day rather than two, and first i will be in Faversham getting some pipe cleaners as the pipe needs cleaning, and get some tobacco as well.

Most of the day has been spent watching DVD's - The Woman In Black 2 - Angel of Death and When The Lights Went Out based on a true poltergeist events in Yorkshire.

When the Lights Went Out PosterThe Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death Poster

I also watched the Stax Story again - a fascinating two hour documentary about that famous soul label.

Looking forward to the free breakfast tomorrow.

Jobs

Sometimes i really do not know what to put in a blog but that writer's block kind of reaction doesn't happen often . It did yesterday though.

Anyway after a surprisingly fine sunny bank holiday Monday today the weather notched a step up to become even sunnier with temps rising to 27 degrees C. I popped over to Faversham to sell some paperbacks gacked from the left out books from outside a charity shop that is having a refit in Tunbridge Wells the other day. They were in a box with "take for free" on it, and i sold them for three quid - the rest i kept - i took eight books and sold four.

That was the highlight of the day. I spent a couple of hours sunbathing and watched the Steve Jobs biopic DVD. Can i say , what a control freak and dick he is - well that is my opinion of him ,genius or not. I also felt sorry to Steve Wozniak being belittled by Jobs. Fascinating film though.

In the film towards the end, John Sculley (former Apple CEO) arrives in secret at the launch of the iMac and the two make amends. Jobs and Sculley discuss Jobs' life as an adopted child, and Jobs admits that his need for control stems from his feelings of powerlessness in being given up. At the behest of Hoffman, Jobs apologizes to Lisa for his mistakes, admitting that he is "poorly made". Lisa watches her father take the stage to introduce the iMac.

I also finished the whole eight seasons of Charmed again, Think i will leave it for awhile,I am steadily going through Season 10 of Supernatural and so far it's a blast.

Hopefully tomorrow  i will have a remittance from React Surveys as it is the last day of the month. Can it be September so soon?

Vertigo

Just watched the DVD of Vertigo - one of \Hitchcock's best movies.Kim Novak was brilliant in itand the lush music by Bernard Hermann complements it thoroughly.

Had a lie-in this morning - it was unintentional - and i suppose i needed the sleep.

A box of DVD's arrived in the post from my brother this morning. So there will be some that will drag me away from Charmed lol. Hitchcock's Vertigo is one of them, as well as The Woman In Black and the Steve Jobs biopic.

This will keep me busy over the weekend.
jazzy_dave: (Default)
Due to tight budget it has been \another day of relaxing and since it has been an overcast day with the occasional shower i decided to do some reading. Covered quite a few a few chapters from each book with another one fully completed. Hey ho, so back to reading and maybe that Daredevil movie DVD to watch later on. Might even watts that third Jason Bourne trilogy , having watched the other two.  I also listened to one of thses Big Finsh Dr.Who audio items. It was Tom Baker as the good old Doctor.
