Attempting to entice me to stay with their broadband and continue with the contract, Talk Talk dangled a carrot some weeks ago. That carrot has arrived today,

It is an Amazon Echo Dot and Smart Plug that is worth £65. I have connected it to the wi-fi and the app on my phone. I have been playing around with it. I felt like saying." Alexa, you have a lovely sexy voice". I decided against it. However, it reminded me of that Siri episode from The Big Bang Theory.

A couple of things.

The mobile phone works again now that it has dried out.
The moral of the story, make sure your phone is in a place where it cannot fall out of when in public toilets.

The other thing -
Now that I have told Mary about it and was going to give her Huawei model back she said to me "keep it. I have a better phone now", she said.

So, I have a backup just in case...

It has been one of those days where you know it would have been best to stay home asleep.

I popped out to town this afternoon to post an item sold on Discogs. Unfortunately, I do not have a link to the online Royal Mail postal service from Discogs as I do with eBay. So I had to physically go to the post office. I then wanted to get some food items but I needed a pee. So there I was in the Tescos toilet and when I finished and got up from the lav seat my phone falls out of my overcoat pocket and went down the toilet. I managed to get it out before flushing and dried it as much as I could.

However, now at home, it looks sad. It will not even charge up so taking advice from the net it is now surrounded by gel packs to dry it out and it says I should leave it a good few days before trying to turn it back on. I hope it will work again. I feel lost without one now.

Luckily, my friend, mary at 27m has given me her old pay-as-you-go phone from Tescos. It is also a Huawei P Smart, so same phone model but silver instead of black. It just needs topping up if I need to make a call or use data if I am not ina WiFi zone.

Seriously though, someday I may upgrade my phone anyway. The contract is due to finish soon.

It has been another fine and lovely day here in the Bourne.

I have changed my mobile phone payment to a cheaper monthly ten pound contract as the O2 Bundle was proving to be expensive and wasteful on certain aspects , and not achieving the amount of texts or calls to justify the bundle. Keeping the same number of course.

In other news, whilst i was in town yesterday i had a tap on the shoulder from Fran. She wanted to know how i am and then we got talking about that piece of shit known as the cousin -she too has hot seen him or heard of him since he shacked up with Z. He has cut himself off from everybody including Kevin , whom he once called his best mate , and not even he has heard a peep. Fran and i both concurred that when his money runs out i doubt Z will have him around. Karma will get him!

I also heard that the Whitstable brewing company is opening their own pub in Faversham at the top end of Preston Street. Should be open in October and hopefully in time for my brother and Graeme when they come down on the 6th.

I received my second plastic five pound note today - pity that they don't have Elizabeth Fry on the back anymore. It is another boring pic of Churchill for damn sake!

I currently have four books on the go at the moment , including the letters that Simone de Beauvoir sent to John Paul Sartre. Reading them makes me realise how much we have lost the art of letter writing.

Good news. I have found my phone, well actually cousin did. Apparently i mus have dropped it, went on the floor or soewhwee because he found Flornece sitting on it. Needs a good charge though before i can use it but it saves phoning the bus copnay as i thought i left it on a bus, or buying a new one.

I think must she have been keeping it safe for me.

Some phones are just too complicated. I have somebody  , a relation, who just updated their phone as they lost the old one. It was not set up by the mobile phone  company in the shop and thus he was not able to get on  the web and then had to call the network supplier for the phone, which was useful as a brick.

Sometimes customer service is so poor and unless you are tech savvy , you can be flummoxed very quickly. At least when i bought my phone a good few years back the company i bought it from set it all up for me.
