Well, that was quite a long day. Tomorrow a bit more relaxed and the morning I will complete the reports from today. My main visits I must do tomorrow is Sheerness and Hempstead Valley. Apart from that, I think I do not have any urgent ones.
The weather has been weird. Bloody cold this morning, dryer during the day with some sunshine and then a misty but humid evening. I started with four layers of clothing and walking back from the train station this evening just two layers of clothing- a T-shirt and light mac!
Whilst in Brighton I just had to get my hair done. It was itchy, so I went to a hair salon I use to frequent often when I lived in the city and had a wash and cut for £12. Years ago it was just £9 - oh well, that is inflation for you!

Travelling Back
Jul. 17th, 2018 09:51 amTraveling back to Kent today - via Lewis Of course rather than Eastbourne where the centre is having a major redevelopment. In fact, so is Sittingbourne Which will get a multiplex cinema with six screens.
The weather is supposed tobe cooler today - around 21 degrees ,so it should be cooler for travelling.

Had a hreat evening last night at the pub with Phil. He dropped me home and gave me a nut roast to have later today should i need it. It is currently in the fridge as i will be doing a 'Spoons visit anyway here in London.
I have just done a coffee shop visit in Finsbury Park and currently in Notting Hill Gate to look around MVE again. I have unwanted CD's and DVD's to exchange. Then off to Oxford Street to do a covert shop in a jewellers, and finally the pub food and drink visit in Lee (near Hither Green).

Monday Musings
Apr. 9th, 2018 08:45 amBlimey! I just realized that i did not blog once on Sunday. Many reasons for this now. Stuck in agood read was one of them and the other was catching up with the latest Supernatural episode and of course watching more Doctor Who episodes. As for the latter, ihave reached the Amy Pond seasons and the Matt Smith period.
The books that have kept me engrossed are a collection of essays by George Orwell, and a biography on Miles Davis by John Szwed.
Today i an traveeling coastal bound to finish the last two charity shop visits that should have been completed in March - yes i got an extension.

Well that turned out to be a longer day than expected. Mind you, i did an evening meal at the Opera House in Tunbridge Wells since it was curry night. I had their hot Welsh Dragon one, which suits me but may be too hot for more delicate palates.
I did notice that the pub i was in, being a former opera house, will be staging La Boheme in the new year.

It could be worth a visit.
The journey back took longer than expected due to road works on the Medway bridge in Rochester. The bus form Chatham station diverted via the tunnel to Strood and i had a twenty minute wait at Strood station to get connecting trains to Teynham. Arrive home just before eleven.
Whilst in Brighton recently i never did get a chance to any of the early music events going around the city this month. Another missed opportunity. Oh well, c'est la vie, as the French would say.

Sunday Traveling
Oct. 4th, 2015 01:43 pm'Tis another lovely sunny day here in the garden of England. I have been over to Whitstable and then via Canterbury to Faversham where i am at the moment enjoying some Rogue Amber Ale (5.3 % ABV) . Now at only 99p a bottle this fine ale from the USA is slipping down the throat very nicely. So having two bottles is just near to two pints of beer. Awesome.

I then will be traveling over to Maidstone for a roast lunch and drink mystery shop. Sunday buses are few and far between , depending on what routes you take on a Sunday. However i do fancy a nice chicken roast today with a couple of beers, all paid for by one of my companies.
I have camera in hand just in case a flash of inspiration comes up.

As Arnie Said "I'll be Back"
Sep. 28th, 2015 07:15 pmWell dear reader, i am back in the hell hole quiet village of Teynham , and now having to nurse, if that is the right word for it, my cousin who has a torn ligament.
I am hoping that React will pay me soon as i shall be off to Canterbury tomorrow to do my bookish mystery shop at the university. YAY!!
I have made great headway into the book on the sixteenth century artist Michelangelo de Caravaggio. Bloody fascinating.
The journey went very smoothly with just a quick pint of beer stop at The Opera House. I sung an aria!
Soon it will be head thumping quizzing time with University Challenge and Only Connect.

Crowns,Hens,Birds and Mad Ideas
Jul. 29th, 2012 10:14 amMy friend, Georgina, has a problem with her neighbour and his horde of chickens and cockerels. They come up so close to her boundary from the neighbour’s fence. He is absolutely obsessed about his foul friends, in both sense of the word. I often get otalgia every time I visit. For her sake I hope the problem gets resolved soon such as a town fox eating the chickens.

Next visit over to Seaford will be on the 15th August, a Wednesday, as I am popping over to my brother’s the following day. We are off Friday to the small county of Rutland. Uppingham to be precise and staying at a pub called The Crown Inn. This place has been voted one of the best pubs in the country, and they serve excellent food. Then on the following Tuesday will be the next lunch club at La Tasca in Brighton.
There is a bird (ornithological) fair on over the weekend and that is the main thrust for brother going there. I have never been to that part of Britain so the whole experience should be exhilarating.
This coming week I shall be in Tunbridge Wells again on a pub food visit, so I should have more time to peruse that secondhand bookshop in the old part of town. Then I had a mad idea. I have a voucher for five quid from Waterstones to spend in a certain refurbished store of theirs. If I get the earliest bus (0732 from Teynham) next Thursday my first port of call would be Brighton to spend the voucher, and then do Tunbridge Wells on the way back, followed by a Pumpkin visit in Tonbridge. I have worked out the times and it is within the bounds of doing it all in a day. Anyway, cousin Spot will be glued to the TV watching the Olympics, so this will be the perfect time for me to do this, since the voucher expires on the 5th August.
This will mean not going up to Dover Castle on the previous Wednesday night.
