A couple of books that i picked up some time ago, and relevant to the study of feminism,  one which is an historical account, Women in Britain Since 1900 by Sue Bruley (Palgrave) , and the other one from a sociological aspect , Women In Contemporary Britain, An Introduction by Jane Pilcher (Routledge).

The reason for mentioning these two books, is that i have just started reading the former one, as it is a subject i know very little about. I do welcome any other recommendations.

Are you talking purely factual and/or women's studies?

I was taken to marches by my rather militant aunts and cousins, as a child in the 70s, One of the books from that time that still remains with me, is Joanna Russ's How to Suppress Women's Writing. Russ was, perhaps, the archetypical 'angry feminist' but her feminist writing was equally as powerful as her science fiction from the 60s. Quite tellingly, you'll find a number of mid-list to top women writers are still treated this way

I read some of her sci-fi stuff back in the 70's on the Women's Press imprint but i shall look out for the one you mentioned. Thanks

No recommendations, but the first one does sound like it could be good. :)

I picked up 4 books yesterday. I got all four for just under $35. They were all on sale. One of them had a retail price of $60. So not as good as your deals, but I think I did okay. :)
