I wondered how Russia and Qatar got to host the World Cup, and it seems that they did buy votes to win. The shenanigans continue at FIFA which,in my opinion, is unfit for purpose!

There is a difference between 'may have bought votes' and "did buy" don't you think?

That is why i said "seems" as it has yet to be proven otherwise. Still, where is there is smoke there usually is fire. We hall see.

You are right. Sometimes, people are hurrying to give a hint: maybe it's true, maybe not... That kind of "Who knows?" But when everything becomes clear, they will not say anything about the fact that Russia really didn't buy votes.

Sure hope they relocate elsewhere. No way they should let people play soccer in Death Valley, Qatar.

Russia would HAVE to be bribing someone at this point.

The most puzzling news at our house is that so many people are pronouncing "Qatar" as "Cutter." Which makes it sound like a person's last name, and so we never know what they're talking about. Cutter? Really?

"Russia would HAVE to be bribing someone at this point."

So, you probably have some proof? Or it's just a great wish to see the situation as you hope to see it?

How does Russia get to host anything unless they are bribing the heck out of it. UGH...

The problem is that corrupt though it is, FIFA has the world playing under the same rulebook. If it breaks up, you could have each county playing under its own rules, which would make international competition difficult, if not impossible. So FIFA should be reformed, not destroyed.
