Interesting timing. When my wife and I were coming back from Phoenix last week Wednesday, we stopped in Las Cruces for a bite to eat. We'd been having a discussion about the concept of a story that would put House, MD in the Star Trek universe, and the concept of Dr. McCoy or Crusher not being the only MD on the Enterprise but actually being the Chief Medical Officer, which I think has been referenced on the series. Anyway, I did a little digging and your first book on this page, the ship with the ball attached on front on the top right corner is an Olympic class which is a hospital ship. I think the Pasteur was the first ship of its class.
Nope. Daedalus-class. It's taken from one of Matt Jeffries' early designs for the TOS Enterprise, although the Olympic-class was inspired by that design in turn.
