Cosmic Science
Dec. 6th, 2005 09:11 amSunday night at the Phoenix Art Gallery in the Red Ro0m we saw some "Cosmic Science" films curated by Ian Helliwell. The films were "What On Earth" by Kaj Pindal (1966),"Plants In Action" (1968),"Fantastic Voyage" by Hal Sutherland (1968),"Apollo Suyuz" (1975),"Lyndon B. Johnson Space Centre" (1974)"Living Doll" by Harrison Marks (really funny!) and ""Les Astronautes" by Walerian Borowczyk with Chris Marker (1959).
An excellent feast of short films with a short look at British soldiers on LSD in the sixties - very amusing.
Picked up "Recharge" by Biting Tongues in Snoopers for £3 on LTM Records, this was Graham Massey's band before 808 State.
Popped into Fopp and bought a BFI DVD film classic - Fw Murnau's "Nosferatu" for £7 - an excellent price for such a classic silent vampire movie - infact the one that started the whole Dracula and its ilk movement in film making.
